Respectful Relationships education is a core component of the Victorian Curriculum from foundation to year 12. It is about embedding a culture of respect and equality across the entire school community. Teachers use the program to teach students how to build healthy relationships, how to be resilient and to be confident in themselves.
The resources have been developed by Deakin University and the University of Melbourne. The lesson plans and activities help students learn and practise social skills and apply them in a positive way to learning, life and relationships.
We will have many opportunities for students to develop leadership skills as we believe this is imperative in gaining life-long skills. St Teresa of Kolkata School will develop a Student Representative Committee (SRC) where students will have a forum to have a voice in decision making at the school level.
